Peanut chutney powder is very easy to prepare. This recipe is very famous in North Karnataka. It is called as shenga chutney pudi. It is a very simple and spicy condiment powder. It is served as a side dish for many dishes like idli, dosa, roti etc.

Chutney powder has many variations in recipes.  Shenga chutney pudi is very simple and we can prepare with easily available ingredients. Before I shared traditional chatni pudi, lauki ka peel chutney pudi and now I’m sharing peanut chutney pudi with complete steps and procedures.

For making the chatni pudi firstly we need to dry roast the peanut in medium flame. When the peanut kicks the skin then turn off the flame. You can use a micro oven for roasting the peanuts. If you want to skip this roasting step, bring the roasted peanut from the market.

Then roasting the spices for the pudi I used only coriander seeds and jeera. You can use other spices like methi seeds. No need for adding and roasting too much spices because the taste of peanut chutney powder will go. I roasted garlic too. Instead of this directly we can use the garlic for pudi.

The colour of chatni pudi mainly depends upon the red chilly or red chilly powder. Roasted red chilly is also used for this chatni pudi. Instead of roasting directly use red chilly powder like I used. Adding red chilli powder is very simple and easy. Red chilly can add more, because it completely depends upon the spiciness of your taste bud. Salt and tamarind added to the taste so adding of this must be limited.

We can store this chatni pudi up to 15 days at room temperature. For chatni pudi I prefer glass jars or bottles because they remain fresh for longer periods. Use a dried spoon too for a long shelf life. If you follow these steps to preserve the chatni pudi then you can prepare more quantities of chatni pudi. Otherwise prepare a small batch or quantity of chatni pudi.

Chatni pudi or gun powder is one of the best side dishes for working women or bachelors. If you prepared in large quantities then for breakfasts no need side dish or evenings easily serve the dosa. Kids also love this podi dosa so you can prepare instant tasty dosa for them.

Try this peanut chutney powder and have it with many dishes. I thank each person for coming here and checking my version recipes and trying recipes. Stay connected to the next interesting recipes. Love you all.
