Bottle Gourd masala Curry is a very easy and quick recipe. For preparing this recipe we need not grind the masala and many ingredients too.  If tender bottle gourd gets then no need to take out the skin and seeds. The bottle gourd skin is also used for chutney and other recipes. For this recipe, I have used simple masala like red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and coriander powder. Along with this masala you can add jeera powder and spices. Onion and tomatoes are best suitable vegetables for this curry. Once the masala is added the bottle gourd pieces are added because it cooks very fast and easily.

  • Take a bottle gourd, peel the outer skin and chop into small pieces.
  • In a kadai add oil, urad dal, mustard seeds, curry leaves and saute well.
  • Add finely chopped garlic, ginger and green chili and saute well.
  • Add onion and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and saute well until it starts to mushy.
  • Add masala like coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. mix everything.
  • Add bottle gourd pieces, and some water and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add coriander leaves and mix everything.
  • The bottle gourd masala curry is ready to serve.
  • Serve with rice or chapati.
