Bisibele bath powder is blended with spices. It is one of the flavoured rice. Bisibele bath is served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This rice is very popular in Bangalore, Karnataka. The homemade masala is fresh, flavorful and has a good aroma and good for health too.


Bisibele bath powder is easily available in markets, but homemade is always best. Personally I prefer homemade masala because it is very healthy to the body and does not have an expiry date. The bisibele bath powder is very easy to prepare. It needs much more ingredients. The ingredients are easily available in markets. Once you are done with masala when you are busy on weekdays, easily you can prepare bisibele bath.

For preparing the masala we should take dried spices. The spices are roasted separately or together, it doesn’t matter. While roasting the spices the flame should be low or medium and often sauté well. Otherwise the spices are chances to burn when you keep the flame high.

The fresh spices, proper roasting of spices gives good aroma and flavor to the powder. Use the correct proportion of spices for getting a good taste of masalas and bisibele bath. Spices are adjusted to your taste.

You can prepare a large quantity of powder and store it in an airtight container. While storing the powder, use a glass jar, dry spoon for a long shelf life of powder. The bisibele bath powder can store up to one month in room temperature. You can store it in the refrigerator but the freshness of masala will go away from it.

  • Take a pan, add spices like coriander seeds, chana dal, sesame seeds, urad dal, cumin, methi seeds and roast for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • Add black pepper, cardamom, clove and cinnamon again and roast for about 3 minutes. Once you are done with roasting, transfer to a plate to cool down.
  • In the same pan add oil, red chilli, coconut pieces and roast for 5 to 7 minutes in medium flame. After roasting, transfer to the plate to cool down.
  • Store in an airtight container and use it whenever required with the homemade bisibele bath Powder.


  • While roasting the spices flame must be medium, otherwise spices will bring quickly.
  • Use proper measurements to prepare the masala for better taste.
