Veg Fried rice is one of the staple foods which includes vegetables and few ingredients. It is a flavourful rice item and also tastes delicious. It is also called street food recipes. Everyone loves fried rice. It is best for kids because it has a lot of vegetables and it looks attractive. Here, Vegetables are the star in these recipes.


Vegetable fried rice is an easy recipe with few ingredients. It is loaded with vegetables, you can add more or less vegetables and your desired vegetables too. Vegetables should be crunchy so don’t cook more. If the vegetables are cooked more like a mushy fried rice taste will ruin so carefully cook the vegetables. Choice of vegetables is also important because adding mushy vegetables is not a good choice to prepare the fried rice.

Usually fried rice is served with eggs or other non-vegetarian food, sea food. I am a vegetarian so I have not added anything. Fried rice is easy to prepare from scratch. It is a vegan recipe by nature. If you avoid adding soya sauce then it will become gluten free too.

Vegetable fried rice can be prepared for breakfast, lunch, dinner and lunch boxes too. This recipe does not need any side dish or for kids you can be served with raita or ketchups. It is super delicious when it is warm. Definitely enjoys the indo- Chinese combination of rice.

Pre- cooking rice is an important task because rice should be cooked until it cooks. Rice doesn’t overcook for preparing the indo- Chinese and restaurant style of fried rice. While cooking the rice, adding a small amount of salt and oil will give a nice texture to the rice. Overcooking rice will lead to break while mixing the rice with vegetables at the final stage of fried rice.

  • Cut all the vegetables like carrot, beans, cabbage, capsicum, spring onion and corn.
  • Take a kadai, add oil and finely chopped garlic and onion and sauté it for a few minutes.
  • Add spring onion, all the vegetables, a little amount of salt and sauté for 5 minutes. Don't boil it, vegetables should be crunchy.
  • Add soya sauce, vinegar and sauté it well.
  • Add cooked rice, pepper powder and salt to taste and combine well.
  • Add spring onion and mix well.
  • Serve on a plate with tomato ketchup and enjoy the vegetables fried rice.


  • Don't add mushy vegetables like potato, brinjal.
  • Avoid cooking the rice completely, it will break while mixing the rice.
