Jeera rice is very simple and easy to make. Jeera is the most common ingredient in Indian households. Jeera means cumin. Cumin or jeera plays the most important role in common kitchen items. It provides a lot of nutrients and is most flavored to the rice. This recipe is mostly like a bachelor’s or new to cooking because it is very simple and doesn’t need much ingredients.
Cumin plays a big role in the digestive system of our body. This recipe is a wonderful combination with makhani, dal, butter masala or any non-vegetarian dishes. I love jeera rice with dal or raita. Jeera flavoured rice is always a mouthwatering recipe.
Usually jeera rice is prepared with Basmati rice. I have used normal rice for making this recipe. But trust me, this will also work great for rice. Jeera flavour plays a big role in this rice recipe so definitely it will hit if you prepared with normal rice also. Beforehand we can cook the rice how much we need. The rice should not be sticky and mushy. While cooking the rice add salt and oil so rice should not be sticky.
When you are traveling or need a quick one pot meal this is the best rice recipe. The restaurant style of jeera rice is most flavoured by cumin. This recipe can be prepared from leftover rice also. For spiciness we can add green chilli for more flavour and taste. This recipe does not need any other spices. If you add too much of other spices you will spoil the original taste of the cumin rice. So always simple jeera rice with dal is the best combination ever.
