Soups are always best for our body. It contains lots of nutrients and vegetables. In many varieties of soups cabbage soup is also one. This cabbage soup is anglo Indian soup. It is served for weight loss diet soup. I will share how to prepare tasty and nutritious soup in an easy way.


Generally i am a big fan of warm soups. Anytime iam love to have a soup. Because it is easy to prepare, it contains a lot of nutrients and proteins for our body. Soups are generally stomach fillers so it is an easy way to put in my daily diet. In both pregnancies I have the soup as much as I can, because I can add lots of veggies and herbs. Soups do not need many ingredients.

This soup can be called C3 Soups because here I added Cabbage, Capsicum and Carrot. You can add other crunchy vegetables. These 3 vegetables are super healthy, don’t cook more and are a good combination for soups. For thicker soup you can add corn flour slurry while boiling the soup. It is completely optional, you can skip these steps, and then you get a little watery consistent soup. No change in taste of soup. I like a slightly spicy version of soup so added pepper powder, this is good for health also. Instead of pepper powder add red chilli powder or chilli flakes or green chilli.

This cabbage soup is a great starter before the meals. Serve the cabbage soup when it is warm. You can have cabbage soup with papad. While serving the cabbage soup garnish more coriander leaves. It will add a nice aroma to the soup.

Cabbage is a good source of Vitamins and fiber. It reduces inflammation, and improves digestion. It also helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

Soup does not have an exact recipe. You can add more veggies and other masalas too.   • Take a pan or kadai, add oil, ginger, garlic and sauté well.
  • Add carrot, capsicum, cabbage and stir well for 2 to 4 minutes in medium flame.
  • Later, add water and salt as much required and boil well for about 5 minutes.
  • Take a small bowl, add corn flour and water mix well without any lumps. Pour prepared corn flour mixture into the boiled soup. Stir well and boil well for 2 more minutes.
  • Add pepper powder and mix well.
  • Finally add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Enjoy the soup when it is warm.


  • Vegetables must be half cooked, otherwise the taste of the soup will be reduced.
  • Corn flour mixture or slurry is optional.
