  • Take a kadai, add horse gram, dry roast until you get the aroma or slightly colour changes to brown.
  • In the same pan add curry leaves and roast for a few minutes.
  • Add oil and red chili and roast until it color changes.
  • Add coconut and roast until water content goes away.
  • Add asafoetida and roast for 2 minutes.
  • Allow to cool down all the roasted ingredients.
  • Once it completely cools down, transfer to the mixer jar and add salt and jaggery and grind to a powder texture.
  • Super healthy horse gram chutney or gun powder is ready.
  • Serve with idli, dosa or hot steamed rice.
