Veg Hakka noodles is one of the most famous street foods. It is an Indo- Chinese dish. Not only streets, many restaurants are serving noodles. Noodles are a hot favourite dish to kids and also adults.

 

Veg Hakka noodles are similar to vegetable noodles. The hakka noodles are a little spicier compared to normal or any other type of noodles. The hakka noodles are tossed with sauces, and some vegetables. Hakka noodles also have a unique taste.

For preparing hakka noodles you can select any brand of noodles. While cooking the noodles add some oil, because it will help from the stickiness.  Once you cook the noodles immediately add cold water, otherwise it will cook more. So cooking noodles is very important and follows some tricks for non-sticky noodles.

The vegetables are also don’t overcook, it should be crunchy when having the noodles. Some other veggies can also add to the hakka noodles. Here, I have added tomato sauce and soya sauce, you can add green chilli sauce or other sauce too for spiciness or tastes.

While mixing the noodles gently mix it, otherwise it will break. Any vinegar can be used, if you don’t have vinegar you can add lemon juice to the noodles. But it gives little difference in taste. You can garnish with fresh coriander leaves too.

Serve the noodles when it is warm with sauce. Without sauce also it will be liked. This is my version of the hakka noodles recipe, it will come exactly to a restaurant’s noodle taste. Try this recipe and definitely your taste buds will enjoy the noodles.

  • Take a large kadai, add water, salt, oil and boil well.
  • Once water starts to boil add noodles and stir well for about 5 minutes or until the noodles cook.
  • Then drain off the noodles, rinse in cold water. Then keep aside.
  • Take a pan or kadai, add oil, garlic, ginger, green chilli and sauté well.
  • Add chopped onion and stir well for about a minute.
  • Add carrot, capsicum, cabbage and sauté well until vegetables are shrunk. Don't overcook the vegetables.
  • Add tomato sauce, soya sauce, pepper powder and salt and mix it well. Everything should combine well.
  • Add cooked noodles, vinegar and gently mix well. If you want coriander leaves for garnishing.
  • Ready to serve the Hakka noodles, enjoy with sauce.

Notes

  • After cooking the noodles, immediately add cold water, otherwise it will become more and become sticky.
  • Vegetables and sauces can be added more or less to your preferences.
