The Gobi pepper fry serves as a starter or snack in the evening. It can be used as a side dish for lunch or dinner meals. The gobi pepper fry is one of the Chinese dishes with an Indian touch. The Cauliflower beforehand only needs to clean it well and separate the florets so this will make our job easy. Or else you can buy florets from markets directly.

The cauliflower has no need to cook beforehand, just balance with hot water. Gobi is easily cook and no need much time to cook. For crispy florets i fried in oil using flour. It is completely optional directly you can make the stir fry.
After frying prepare the simple tempering to this. Adding of fennel seeds gives more taste to the fry. The fry is mixture of onion, garlic and capsicum with some spices. Instead of chilli powder pepper powder gives good taste, flavour to the fry.
The gobi pepper fry is loved by everyone. This fry tasted in hotels as a starter. Later I tried it at home. I feel like it is simple, easy and delicious. My kid also loved this snack so now often i will prepare this fry at home. It is served as a snack, goes well with rice and rasam. Now it has become my favorite snack food. This pepper fry is good combination with Tomato ketchup, directly also you can have the fry.
Cauliflower is one of the low calorie vegetables. If you avoid deep fried or looking for healthier options, just try the without deep fry just make stir fry the florets of Gobi. Plain pepper fry also gives wonderful taste.

Instructions
-
Take a cauliflower, clean it well and make the florets and wash thoroughly.
-
In a vessel add some water and allow to boil. Once hot water is prepared pour to gobi florets, close the lid and keep aside for 10 minutes.
-
Take a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, corn flour, pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and mix all the dry ingredients.
-
After mixing add some water and mix well like a thick batter.
-
Now, check if the cauliflower is balancing or softens properly or not. Then drain off all the water from it and leave for cool down.
-
Once again mix the batter and gobi florets to the batter.
-
Meanwhile, take a thick bottom kadai and heat oil for frying.
-
Once oil gets enough heat add cauliflower florets to oil one by one. Fry until it turns to golden colour and remove from hot oil to absorb the paper.
-
Take a pan, add oil, cumin, fennel seeds and roast it until aroma comes from it.
-
Add chopped onion, garlic slice, ginger finely chopped sauté well for a few minutes.
-
Add chopped capsicum and sauté well for a few minutes.
-
Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, tomato sauce mix well.
-
Finally, add fried gobi and combine well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Recipe Notes
- While preparing the batter, add water gradually otherwise the batter will not be a thick consistency.
- Use the fried gobi as soon as possible to stir fry, or else the crispiness will be lost.
