Since my childhood I know about coconut milk but never seen coconut flour being used. Always after extracting coconut milk, the residue become waste and most of them throw away as they didn’t know the further use or how to use it. I thought why I couldn’t do something from that, so I started research over that. After research i got the idea for extracting flour from residue.  I loved and benefited this, as it adds good flavour to recipes and gives healthy alternative to our body.

 

What and how coconut flour is made?

Flour of coconut is prepared from coconut. Take coconut pieces or grated coconut, grind it with little water and take away coconut milk. From that residue we can fry, grind like a powder. The result is white colour flour is ready and very mild in taste like other flour.

Unique and best alternative to wheat or other gluten-containing flours. This flour is rich in carbs and low in fat than other flour. It has nutrition profile, coconut flour may offer several benefits. These include,

Uses

This flour is used with baking, making roti’s and chapathi, bread, pancake’s etc. It absorbs excess water than other flour.

  • First grate or cut coconut into small pieces. Take one mixer jar add coconut and little water, grind it.
  • In a bowl, spread one towel put grinded coconut and squeeze it nicely 2 to 3 times.
  • Coconut milk will be ready use it for any type of recipe.
  • For coconut flour take the residue after squeezing.
  • Using a pan the residue need to be heated for 10 minutes. Once the residue is dry, take out from pan and keep aside for cooling.
  • Take one mixer jar add residue coconut and grind nicely. It became powder similar to other flours. Now your coconut flour is ready. It can be used for Roti's, chapathi, cookies, pancakes etc.
